Scope and Purpose
The Workgroup members are technical advisors to the Monitoring Subcommittee concerning
field and analytical methodology and quality assurance issues. The Workgroup provides a
forum for exchange of technical information focused on moving towards standardization of
methods/use of comparable methods throughout the Chesapeake Bay Monitoring Program.
Members of the Workgroup participate in the Coordinated Split Sample Program and use this
information in evaluating the quality of the monitoring data and for identifying areas that require
further study.
AMQAW Mission Statement:
To provide professional direction and guidance on field and laboratory methods and QA/QC
for coordinated Chesapeake Bay and tributary nutrient water quality monitoring programs.
Objectives:
Enhance the coordinated split sample program
Improve data submission
Completion of Dissolved Organic Carbon study
Explore new technologies for nutrient analysis
Refine and revise the CBP Quality Assurance PP
Design and implement an AMQAW blind audit program
Define goals of a CBP QA Officer
